Welcome to OG Sevens Netball
The OGSevens Netball Team which was founded in 2025, features a dynamic and talented squad of young players each bringing exceptional skill, flair and enthusiasm on the court. Our athletes have experience of playing at a high level, including England and Yorkshire Premiership leagues; many have competed within Franchise Netball pathways at U17 & U19 level.

The Dubai 7s Journey
OG Sevens’ proposal to create a netball team for the Dubai 7s was met with both excitement and apprehension, as the challenge of entering one of the world’s biggest sporting festivals with a brand-new team was daunting. Months of hard work followed, involving detailed planning, late nights, and strong determination. With consistent backing from OG Sevens -particularly Matt Gaffney and John Hinchliffe - the team was formed, sponsorship was secured, and the demanding application process was successfully completed.
Support from main sponsor JWH Tanks, along with other committed backers, helped turn the idea into reality. As kits arrived and training stepped up, a resilient squad took shape, largely made up of Old Grovians and led by an OG team manager, giving the group a strong sense of identity and shared history.
Despite the heat and pressure in Dubai, the team’s speed, unity, and fearless approach stood out. They dominated the group stages over two days, supported by the OG Sevens rugby players, and showed composure and determination on finals day. Their efforts were rewarded when they were crowned International Social Cup Champions, transforming an ambitious idea into a memorable achievement and setting the stage for the future of OG Sevens Netball.

Here in the UK, we’re gearing up to expand our circuit, exploring every Netball 7s tournament on the map. And the best part? We’re dreaming big- thinking about creating both social and elite squads so even more girls can be part of this incredible adventure.
